Turn in your writeup of the Monty Hall Problem and the Chest of Drawers Problem (both versions). Show your work and give serious thought to all three problems. Wrong answers will be accepted only if accompanied by a believable proof or, if you prefer, a careful illustration of a simulation procedure. Collaboration with friends is encouraged, provided you document your collaboration.

M 12/6/99

HW due today: Complete the poker hand probability chart that we worked on during class Friday. Your work is much more important than the actual answer. In fact, a wrong answer with work is much better than a correct answer with no understanding, because a wrong answer is a good learning opportunity.

T 12/7/99

No STAtistics class today. (Mr. Hansen's other classes will meet, however.) Use the time to work on your homework for Thursday. There will be a spot check for progress on Wednesday.

W 12/8/99

Continue working on HW for Thursday. There will be a progress spot check today; you should have completed at least half of the problems and/or have a good start on all of them. You will have time to get your questions answered in class today.
