(Honors AP Calculus, Period C)

W 12/1/99

Catch up on HW (no additional HW due today). Class will be very short (approx. 15 minutes) so that those who wish to attend the funeral for Norman Summers’ mother may do so.

Th 12/2/99

HW due today: §6-8 #3-30 mo3, 32, 33, 34, 36

F 12/3/99

Meet in Music Room (on other side of hall near Steuart 102). HW due today: §6-9 #3-90 mo3. Note: If you are familiar with all the problems of a certain type, you have permission to skip ahead to later problems. When you have reached 40 minutes total, you may stop; however, finish these problems before Monday.

M 12/6/99

Test on Chapter 6. Have your HW notebook available for inspection during the test. Recommended preparation for test (optional): Work a subset of challenging problems from R1-R9, T1-T18.

T 12/7/99

Mr. Graham will tell you your individual test results. Class results were as follows: mean = 76.4, median = 73, standard deviation = 10. You will have the opportunity to do corrections for up to 9 additional points (details to be announced later in the week).

W 12/8/99

HW due today: §7-1 #1-5; §7-2 #9, plus any two of #4, 5, and 6. You may omit part (f) of #6. Note that #9 is the same as #6 in §7-1.

Th 12/9/99

HW due today: Work on your test writeup. In-class exercise: AP multiple choice practice in groups. Note: Don’t think of your test writeup as "corrections"; in many cases you will be writing up work that you did not do on the test itself, or did only sketchily. Write up the entire test even if you got most of the problems correct. Also note: a TI-83 slope field program was distributed in class today. If you missed it or lost it, be sure to download an alternate slope field program for Monday's HW assignment.

F 12/10/99

HW due today: §7-3 #3, 4, 9; also hand in your test writeup. You will earn up to 9 extra points from Monday’s test if the several randomly selected problems from your writeup are completely correct and notationally clean (e.g., no ESM errors).

M 12/13/99

HW due today: §7-4 #1, 4, 7, 9, 10; also re-think the details of §7-2 #9. If you missed the TI-83 programs that were distributed on Thursday (12/9), be sure to download an alternate slope field program so that you can do this assignment.

T 12/14/99

HW due today: §7-5 #1, 2, 3, 7, 8. For several of these you will need either the EULER program from class or the FNINTY1 program from the Web.

W 12/15/99

HW due today: §7-6 #1-15

Th 12/16/99

HW due today: §7-7 #C3 (p.344); we will work §8-1 and part of §8-2 in class

F 12/17/99

Meet in Steuart Music Room for a Happy Quiz (counts only if it helps your average). Then enjoy your break!
