Notes on violations of crossword construction rules

Please see the main Mathcross puzzles page for puzzles that conform to the standard rules of American crossword construction. The puzzles linked above are of lower quality, since they all violate one or more of the rules. The rightmost column of the table above contains the following codes denoting rule violations:

A  =         Asymmetric grid
B  =         Bars
E  =         Excessive number of blocks
I  =          Interlock requirement violated
L  =         Length requirement violated: some answers are shorter than 3 letters
R  =         Repeated words having 2 or more letters
S  =         St. Albans references, making puzzle difficult or impossible for outsiders
T#  =       Tortured answers (jumbled, backwards, or too obscure): e.g., T3 means there are 3 answers that are too tortured for a serious publication
