Monthly Schedule

(STAtistics, Period D)

Th 5/1/08

Everything Test II (100 pts.). This test will be similar to yesterday’s in form and scope, but of course the questions will be different. If you are happy with how you did yesterday, you may take a day off. If you choose to take the test twice, then the lower of the two scores will be dropped.

No make-ups for either test will be offered unless you have a death in your family or a similar emergency. College trips, field trips, minor illnesses, doctor’s appointments, sporting events, etc. do not qualify. If you missed Wednesday, then you will need to do well today, since you have only one try.

F 5/2/08

No additional HW due. However, some older items may be rescanned or checked in greater detail.

Everyone who took the Everything Test II passed (some with the aid of bonus points). Accordingly, there will be no third try.

In class: One-Question Pop Quiz on Wording-of-the-Question Bias (a form of survey bias).

M 5/5/08

General quadruple HW scan. This will cover randomly chosen problems from previously assigned HW. People who are exempt from attending class today (Alek, Alex, Gleb, Willie, William) need to make up the scan before 3:30 p.m. tomorrow. People who actually take the AP Statistics exam can use written proof of 3 hours or more of review problems worked from the AP review book as a substitute if they wish. (Random chicken-scratching in the margins of the book does not qualify.) People who are in both groups (presumably Gleb and Alex, if they take the AP Statistics exam) have an extra 24 hours, i.e., until 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, to make up the quadruple scan.

T 5/6/08

In class: Must-Pass Quiz. Attendance by Michael, J.D., Kevin, Gleb, Charlie, Lawton, Alex, and John is optional if they take the AP Statistics exam. (If not, attendance is required.)

AP Statistics Exam, 1:00 p.m., Trophy Room or Activities Gym. Bring your graphing calculator, spare batteries, pens, and pencils. Do not bring notes or scratch paper into the exam room. Leave your cell phone at home or in your car.
