Quest on Chapter 3 (70 pts.)

(1+
1+4)

Mr. Kelley has proposed that in the spring semester, IntroCal be split into a “regular” section and a “faster moving” section, both taught by Mr. Hansen. The purpose would be (hopefully) to provide a better educational experience for everyone.

(a)

If this occurs, which section would you prefer to be in?   ¨ regular         ¨ faster

(b)

Which section do you think you should be in, based on your overall ability level? Choose “regular” if you feel you are in the lower half of the class by ability, “faster” if you feel you are in the upper half.

¨ regular         ¨ faster

(c)

Homework, other assignments, and tests would be customized for each class. Mr. Hansen would use judgment, as always, to determine what constitutes “A,” “B,” and “C” level work in each class. It is not expected that grade averages for any particular student would change by very much, even though the assignments would differ. Please share any comments or concerns or questions you may have. Continue on reverse if necessary. This question is worth 4 points; please spend some time thinking about it.
