M 3/1/04

Quiz (20 pts.) on §§10.1–10.5. You should spend some time over the weekend practicing for speed and proficiency, especially on walk-around problems and common tangent problems similar to those we did on the Friday practice quiz.

HW due:
§10.7 #1-7.
Reading notes are suggested, but this material is mostly a review of material we have discussed previously.

HW due: Read §10.8 (remember, reading notes are required as always); write §10.8 #1-12 all, 14.

 

W 3/3/04

HW due: Read §10.9; write §10.9 #2-7 all, 9bc, 11, 14.

 

Th 3/4/04

HW due: Review problems on pp. 505-509 #1-5 all, 7, 8, 12, 14, 17, 18, 19, 20, 23, 24, 25, 26a. After you have tried most of the problems, check the answer key and bring any remaining questions to class.

There are also some optional challenge problems (with answer key) if you desire more practice.

 

F 3/5/04

Test on Trigonometry (§§9.9–9.10) and all of Chapter 10.

Calculator is allowed only during the trigonometry portion. See yesterday’s calendar entry for study/review questions on Chapter 10. For Chapter 9, the best review is to practice doing a few problems on one of the obsolete computers. (Show your work.)

 

Weekend

Since everyone took the test Friday, you may freely discuss the test with anyone you wish: parents, tutors, classmates, etc.

HW due: Read §11.1; write §11.1 #1, 3, 5-8 all, 11, 16.

 

T 3/9/04

HW due: Read §11.2; write §11.2 #3-11 all, 14, 17, 21,22. Formulas, plug-ins, and answer are required each time.

 

W 3/10/04

HW due: Read §11.3; write §11.3 #3-17 odd (formula, plug-ins, and answer).

 

Th 3/11/04

HW due: Read §11.4; write §11.4 #2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 11, 12.

 

F 3/12/04

HW due: Read §11.5; develop a formula for the area of an equilateral triangle having apothem a; write §11.5 #3-11 odd, 10, 17, 19, 20.

In class: Special outdoor project if the weather is good.

 

 

Spring break.

 

M 3/29/04

Classes resume. No additional HW due, but make sure that your §11.5 assignment is complete and correct. Some people were shaky on this on Friday 3/12.

 

T 3/30/04

No additional HW due today. Make sure your have finished up all the §11.5 problems, including the revisions and corrections made in class on Monday.

 

W 3/31/04

HW due: §11.6 #1-19 odd, 14. No reading notes required this time.
