W 5/5/04

AP Calculus AB examination, 8:00 a.m., Trapier Theater. Bring calculator, spare batteries, and several sharpened pencils. The multiple choice portion must be in pencil. You are permitted to write the free response portion in pen if you wish.

Th 5/6/04

Start of group project.

F 5/7/04

HW due: Project proposal (approx. 1 page, double-spaced). Shorter is permitted. Do not add padding or “baloney” words if you can say in fewer words what you are proposing to study. Pick one of the project ideas given in class yesterday, or pick one of your own. Since no projects will be actually begun until I have approved them, you may consider this to be a first draft.

Be sure to explain the mathematical aspects of your project idea. Although a calculus connection is preferred, a purely statistical project is also acceptable. (If you choose a statistics project, I will be happy to help you with the technical details of a statistical study.)

All three group members are responsible for this submission. If someone is absent, the group leader is responsible for deputizing one of the other members and making sure that a copy is e-mailed to me in a timely fashion.
