In class: Finish going over old tests.

Th 4/3/03

No additional HW due. Enjoy the first blast of pleasant weather!

F 4/4/03

Quiz on Chapters 11 and 12. Please use the review questions at the ends of the chapters as a source of practice problems.

M 4/7/03

Review.

T 4/8/03

Additional day of review.

W 4/9/03

Test on Chapters 11 and 12. This will be based primarily on questions from the Barron's review book and the ends of your textbook chapters. Please review your quiz and the newly available solution key before the test.

Th 4/10/03

No class (Form VI Career Day).

F 4/11/03

HW due: Prepare your study strategy for the AP exam. Spend at least 15 minutes thinking and writing about this, and another 15 minutes beginning to implement it. Those who are not taking the AP exam should spend at least 30 minutes working review problems in the Barron's book, keeping a written record, and documenting the time spent and the right or wrong answers obtained. From those who are taking the AP exam, I will collect your study strategy writeup today. Recommended length: 1-2 paragraphs. Be honest: Make a plan that you know you will be able to implement. A timeline is strongly encouraged.

In class: Download and start working with CHISQGOF (Chi-Square Goodness of Fit) program for your TI-83.

M 4/14/03

HW due: Read §13.1 (pp.700-716) and bring a bag of M&M’s to class.

T 4/15/03

HW due: #13.9, #13.10, #13.28.

W 4/16/03

HW due: Skim §13.2, paying greatest attention to the green boxes and summary portions. Cover all the way through p.742. The material on pp.740-742 is the most crucial.

Th 4/17/03

HW due: #13.31, #13.32, #13.34

F 4/18/03

CFU on Chapter 13. This was originally scheduled to be a graded quiz but became a CFU (ungraded quiz) as a result of some inadvertent sports bias in the wording of the question. Please try reworking this problem with the new numbers that add up to 100%. (I removed the error that was due to rounding). A thorough solution key is also available.

M 4/21/03

HW due: Skim §14.1 and §14.3, focusing your greatest attention on pp.779-781. Note that we are skipping §14.2 because it is not on the AP syllabus.

Other HW: Please rework your CFU on Chapter 13 using the new numbers that add up to 100%. When you have finished, please read the solution key carefully.

In class: Practice using CSDELUXE to run a goodness-of-fit test for normality.

T 4/22/03

HW due: #14.15abc, #14.17ab, #14.18abc. Also, if you have not already done so, be sure to get a copy of CSDELUXE (Chi-Square Deluxe) for your calculator.

W 4/23/03

HW due: Re-do your Tuesday HW completely (on a fresh sheet of paper), practicing for speed and accuracy.

Th 4/24/03

Quiz on Chapter 14.

F 4/25/03

HW due: Finish yesterday's quiz as a take-home exercise.

In class: Review.

M 4/28/03

No school (FBK Day).

T 4/29/03

Test on Chapters 13 and 14, Multiple-Choice Portion. Because of the large number of people who told me last Friday that they will be away today, we will make a slight schedule change and have only the multiple-choice portion today. (Will W. may take both portions if he wishes, since he has two tests already scheduled for 4/30.) There will be time before the test starts for you to get any last-minute questions answered. We will also review some items from the early part of the year in preparation for Thursday and Friday.

W 4/30/03

Test on Chapters 13 and 14, Free-Response Portion. If you took the multiple-choice portion yesterday, you may leave when you have finished today’s free-response portion. People absent yesterday must take both parts today.

Because of the discussion regarding the review "quests" originally scheduled for tomorrow and Friday, we lost class time. People desiring to re-take the multiple choice portion of the Chapter 13-14 test may do so tomorrow at the end of the period.
