There is no correct answer to #6. Choice B is the least incorrect, in the sense that it can be made correct with the smallest number of typographical corrections. By replacing f (x) with |f (x)| in statement II, we would have a series that is absolutely convergent (by comparison with a convergent p-series where p = 2). This is probably what the misguided question writer intended. By the first paragraph between the green boxes on p.635 of your textbook, we know that absolute convergence implies convergence. Therefore, the modified version of statement II will guarantee convergence of the original series.
