HW due today: Read §9.1, which is one of the trickier sections in the book. We will do exercises in class, but you must do the reading (possibly more than once) in order to be prepared. In class: Pop quiz.

 

T 2/5/02

HW due today: Bring several good, specific review questions. "I don't understand" is not a question.

 

W 2/6/02

Test on §7.2 through §9.1.

HW due today: Read §9.2.

 

F 2/8/02

Day of rest. However, please stop by during F period to pick up your test.

HW due today: §9.2 #9.17, 9,20, 9.22, 9.24, 9.46.

HW due today: Read §9.3. Nathan will present during part of the class, so be sure to come prepared!

 

W 2/13/02

HW due today: Take the on-line quiz for Chapter 9 and report your results via e-mail by filling in the blanks as requested. This is to be a closed-book, closed-notes quiz without help from anyone else (on the honor system). Also work problems #9.30, 9.34, and 9.45.

Day of rest. However, please use this time to read about resampling. This material is not covered anywhere in the textbook or in the AP curriculum, but anyone who studies statistics nowadays should at least be aware of this topic.

 

M 2/25/02

HW due today: Read §10.2. Also, the pop quiz on §10.1 (including pp.524-525) that was originally intended for Thursday 2/21 has been rescheduled to today in honor of Will's return from London.

 

T 2/26/02

No additional HW due today. If you have not yet read §10.2 carefully, now is your chance to get caught up. In class: We will continue discussing §10.2 and will plan our methodology for the Coke/caffeine-free Coke experiment.

 

W 2/27/02

HW due today: #10.48 (required for everyone) using VHA(S)TPC procedures, plus your choice of either #10.49 or #10.55. You may find the TI-83 STAT TESTS Summary useful for checking assumptions in #10.48 and throughout the rest of the year.

In class: We will develop ideas for experiments to replace the Coca-Cola experiment.
