HW due (required): Fill in the Polygon Feature Chart (or a similar one of your own creation) and get caught up on all old HW.
HW due (optional): Work on review problems from the ends of Chapter 5 and Chapter 6. If you need some suggestions, try some of these, focusing on your areas of weakness:
--pp.264-267 #1, 6-8, 12, 15, 19, 21, 28
--pp.288-290 #1, 4, 5, 8-10, 15, 16
--p.291 #1
Note: If you have time for only one problem, #15 on p.290 is a good one. In that problem, for a slight additional challenge, see if you can prove that line PQ is perpendicular to plane m.
In class: Review for test.
C and D periods will be shortened today because of the assembly by Prince Faisal of Jordan, STA '81. Because the test will not be postponed, you are strongly encouraged (though not required) to attend a review session in AV Room 2 after chapel. You are also free to leave a message on my home voice mail (703.599.6624) if you have questions, and I will call you back and try to help you study in the evening. |

B period meets in the Old Weight Room again today.
HW due: Write §7.4 #1-4 all, 10, 11, 13, 14; no reading assignment.
Also, continue working on your test corrections. Statistics for the Hansen sections on the 12/4 test were as follows: n = 31, xbar = 64, s = 11.7, Q1 = 59, median = 62, Q3 = 73.5. (Q1 and Q3, known as the first and third quartiles, tell you the 25th and 75th percentile scores, respectively. In other words, anyone with a score of 73.5 or higher was in the top 25% of Mr. Hansen’s students.) Per our agreement, up to 15 points will be available to students who turn in excellent corrections and make a successful oral defense. |
