Midterm Study Checklist
c 1. |
The midterm covers 50 sections in chapters 1 through 8. In "Chapter Summary" at end of each chapter, slowly read through bulleted list of concepts and procedures, making sure you understand each concept thoroughly. This should take you about 1 hour altogether. |
c 2. |
Read vocabulary lists (also in chapter summaries). For each term you do not know . . .
|
c 3. |
Drill yourself on vocabulary flash cards. |
c 4. |
Pick 1 or 2 problems from each chapter review, plus one proof from each chapter review. This would be about 2 dozen items altogether and should take 2-4 hours, depending on speed and number of breaks. |
c 5. |
Finish up your practice midterm. Ask during class or at Math Lab about any problems you couldn't match with answer key. |
c 6. |
Don’t just fill out the "study guide" portion of the practice midterm—try actually reading it and studying from it. |
c 7. |
Reread Theorems 1-67 on pp.741-744 and think about what your abbreviations for each of these would be. |
c 8. |
Visit Mr. Findler at STAySmart center (Steuart 303) for more organizational tips and extra help. |
c 9. |
Pack your equipment for exam day: Pencils, calculator, and straightedge. (The side of your calculator will probably make an acceptable straightedge.) |
c 10. |
Get plenty of sleep! |
