Monthly Schedule

(MODD, Period C)

Th 11/1/012

HW due: Finish all previously assigned HW, and prepare a list of review questions.

In class: Review.

F 11/2/012

Test (100 pts.) on all material covered since Sept. 27.

M 11/5/012

HW due: Write out several (3 or more) ideas for your semester project. The project itself will be due in the middle of December. All that you are required to submit today is a list of 3 or more ideas for topics you might want to pursue. If you already have a project idea firmly in mind, you can start working on the actual proposal (details of what you intend to do, a list of resources you can draw upon, and a list of milestones and deadline dates). If you do not already have an idea firmly in mind, then your assignment is merely to write up 3 or more possible ideas.

Project proposals will be negotiated and approved later this week.

Example of a good project idea:
I would like to learn how to breadboard a simple 2-function calculator (addition and subtraction only) using mostly primitive logic gates, not integrated circuits.

Example of an overly vague project idea:
I would like to do something involving computers and the Internet.

Example of a project that will be turned down even though it is interesting, in theory:
I would like to experiment with installing rootkits on other people’s computers.
