STAtistics Monthly Schedule

(AP Statistics, Periods D and F)

T 5/1/01

In-class practice AP exam (part 1, 50 points). Please try to arrive 5 minutes early (i.e., by 10:45 for D period, or by 12:35 for F period). The door will be locked at 10:50 or 12:40 so that the exam can begin promptly. Anyone who misses the entire class (for other than an excused absence cleared through Mrs. Selinger's office) will receive a 45-point penalty. Anyone who arrives late will incur the usual 1 point penalty per minute of lateness but will also have to make up the entire segment during Math Lab, with no guarantee that the make-up version is of equal difficulty. If you are certain you will be attending the other practice exam, you are not required to attend class May 1-3.

W 5/2/01

In-class practice examination (part 2, 50 points). Same rules apply as on May 1.

Th 5/3/01

In-class practice examination (part 3, 50 points). Same rules apply as on May 1.

F 5/4/01

Attendance is required for everyone today. We will discuss AP-type exam questions and hints for maximizing your score.

M 5/7/01
and
T 5/8/01

(Warning: start
at 10:50 or 12:35
SHARP both
days)

Optional Practice AP Examination. This will count as a test and a half (i.e., 150 points), and attendance is required for anyone who skipped class on May 1-3. Anyone else is free to take this for extra practice, or to try for a second score that will cancel the first score if you do better this time.

Multiple-choice questions will be on Monday, and free-response questions will be on Tuesday. Both segments will start at 10:50 a.m. or 12:35 p.m. SHARP. To repeat: Even if you are coming from NCS, you must be in your seat ready to begin at 10:50 a.m. or 12:35 p.m. If you show up at the usual delayed starting time, you will be late.

This optional exam was originally scheduled for Sunday, May 6. However, in retrospect, that was a mistake on my part. Examinations on Sunday, even when optional, are not in keeping with the values of St. Albans School.

W 5/9/01
and
Th 5/10/01

(Warning: start
at 10:50 or 12:35
SHARP both
days)

Optional class days / make-up days for those who missed Monday or Tuesday. Wednesday’s questions will be multiple-choice (intended for those who missed Monday), and Thursday’s questions will be free-response (intended for those who missed Tuesday).

Anyone who desires extra practice is welcome to attend, too. If you stay away from class, please use the time to good advantage. You should be working problems in the Barron’s book for approximately 45 minutes each weeknight if you hope to do well on the AP exam.

As on Monday and Tuesday, these make-up segments will start at 10:50 a.m. and 12:35 p.m., not at the usual 5-minute delayed start.
