STAtistics Monthly Schedule
(AP Statistics, Periods D and F)
M 4/2/01 |
Classes resume. There will be a spot check to see if you and your partner worked on Project #4 over the break, and if so, your deadline will be extended until Monday 4/9. If you miss class today for any reason, even an excused absence, you will be held to the original April 5 deadline unless you make up the spot check on your own time. |
T 4/3/01 |
No additional HW due. Continue reading in textbook and working with your partner on Project #4. |
W 4/4/01 |
No additional HW will be collected. However, please answer the question posed in class: How large a sample do we need for two independent SRS’s of voters so that a 2-percentage-point change in candidate approval ratings is statistically significant in the two-sided sense? |
Th 4/5/01 |
Original due date for Project #4 and Quiz on Darrell Huff's How to Lie With Statistics. This date applies unless you passed the spot check on Monday 4/2. |
F 4/6/01 |
HW due today: Remaining problems from sample test #12B. These will not be collected, but you should do as many of the problems as possible so that we can compare answers. |
M 4/9/01 |
Extended due date for Project #4 and Quiz on Darrell Huff's How to Lie With Statistics. If you miss the quiz today for any reason, even an excused absence, you will have the option of an oral quiz or a slightly more difficult version of the written quiz. In order to qualify for this extended due date, you must have passed the spot check on Monday 4/2. |
T 4/10/01 |
HW due today: Finish problems from sample test #12B (written and ready for inspection). |
W 4/11/01 |
* HW due today: Chapter 12, problems #12.35 through 12.39 all. For at least two of these (your choice), use full VHA(S)TPC writeups; you may do the other three as "button pushers." PLEASE NOTE For the homework due today and for all succeeding days in which you see an asterisk (*) before the homework assignment, you are encouraged to substitute up to 20 minutes of review in the Barron’s AP review book for your normal 45 minutes of expected homework. That means you may do fewer than the assigned number of problems, provided you can document your AP study in writing. There is a standard spreadsheet grid available for this purpose. I also have many review problems on handy index cards for your convenience. Please see me to check out a deck of cards and/or a study grid. |
