Th 1/4/01

HW due today: Patch up §8-3 to meet AP free-response standards. Also, start working on the sample midterm exam and bring your questions to class. During class: Discuss §8-4.

 

F 1/5/01

Continue working on the sample midterm exam. There will be an optional extra review/tutoring session from 8:45 to 9:40 a.m. today in Room R.

 

M 1/8/01

Midterm Exam, 11:00 a.m., Trapier Theater. Required equipment: calculator, spare batteries, and several pencils. Paper will be furnished. Old papers will be handed back before the exam starts. Note: Several points will be based on an equipment check.

 

T 1/9/01

Chapter 7 test grades are finally available. My apologies for the delay.

 

W 1/10/01

Alternate Midterm Exam, 2:00 p.m., Room R. Required equipment: calculator, spare batteries, and several pencils. You need not announce in advance which exam you plan to take. However, if you miss the Monday exam for any reason, you are expected to be at the Wednesday exam. Taking both exams is not permitted. (Does anyone really want to?) Note: Several points will be based on an equipment check.

 

W 1/17/01

Classes resume. HW due today: §8-4 #3, 10, 14, 17, 19, 20. Optional session after school if you wish to see and/or review your midterm exam.

 

Th 1/18/01

No additional HW due today. Make sure that you are caught up on HW and understand the principles of plane slicing.

HW due today: §8-5 #1-7 odd, 18-26 even.

 

M 1/22/01

HW due: §8-6 #1, 2, 7, 8, 9, 18. Extra HW for Desmond: Bake a Bundt cake!

 

T 1/23/01

W 1/24/01

HW due: §8-8, choose any 5. This is an extra bonus topic not covered last year (and not on the AP syllabus). If you would like a special challenge, try #24 on p.490 as one of your problems.

HW due: §8-9 #20, 22; §8-10 #R1, R2, R3, R4.

 

M 1/29/01

HW due: §9-1 #1-7 all; §8-10 review problems (do any "R" or "T" problems that look challenging in any way).
